Privacy Policy: Your Markdown Stays on Your Device

Last updated: July 15, 2026. This policy explains what happens to your Markdown, which network requests can still occur while you use the site, and the choices available to you.

The Short Version

MarkdownToWord.art is a no-upload Markdown converter. Document conversion happens locally in your browser, but the website can still make separate requests for page delivery, advertising, and remote images that you reference.

No document upload for conversion

The Markdown you paste or select is processed in your current browser tab. It is not sent to our servers to create Word, DOCX, HTML, PDF, CSV, or Google Docs-compatible output.

No server-side document storage

We do not provide accounts, cloud projects, or document history, and we do not keep a server copy of your Markdown or generated files.

No AI training on your documents

We do not receive your Markdown or generated files for conversion, and we do not use that content to train AI models.

Website and advertising data are separate

Loading the site may expose basic request, device, cookie, or advertising data to hosting and advertising providers. Those requests do not include the Markdown in your editor.

What Happens to Your Markdown

The converter is designed so your document content stays under your control. Here is how each part of the workflow behaves.

01

Text you paste or files you select

Your browser reads the Markdown into the current page so it can render the preview and create the output you choose. The site does not create a server-side copy. Conversion pages keep the working text in the page, while Live Preview can store its current text in the browser tab's session storage and restore it after a refresh. Closing the tab or clearing site data is controlled by your browser; files you already downloaded remain on your device.

02

Word, DOCX, HTML, PDF, CSV, and Google Docs output

Word and DOCX files are assembled in your browser. HTML and CSV are generated as local downloads. PDF uses your browser's print flow, and Google Docs mode places formatted content on your clipboard so you can paste it into Google Docs.

03

Remote images are the important exception

If your Markdown contains an http or https image URL, your browser may request that image directly from its host so it can appear in the preview or output. The image host can receive the request URL, your IP address, and standard browser request data. Remove remote image links if you do not want those requests to occur.

04

You can inspect the no-upload behavior

Technical users can open the browser's Network panel while converting. You may see normal page, advertising, font, or remote-image traffic, but the Markdown document is not posted to a conversion endpoint.

What Data Can Leave Your Browser

Local document processing does not mean the entire website is offline. The following categories describe the non-document data that may be processed when you visit or contact us.

01

Basic website request data

Hosting, content-delivery, and security providers may receive information needed to serve and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser or device type, requested page, referrer, and request time.

02

Browser storage

The site may store language, theme, or interface preferences in browser storage or cookies. Live Preview uses session storage for the current browser tab so its text can survive a refresh. Your Markdown is not saved as an account project or server-side history.

03

Advertising providers

Advertising providers may process IP address, browser or device information, page and referrer data, cookies, or similar identifiers under their own privacy policies and any consent choices available in your region.

04

Remote image hosts

A host named in your Markdown receives a direct browser request when the page attempts to load that remote image. We do not control the host's logging, retention, or privacy practices.

05

Email you send us

If you email support@markdowntoword.art, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. Do not attach confidential documents, passwords, private keys, or regulated personal information unless you have decided email is appropriate for that material.

How Data Is Used and Shared

We separate your document content from the technical and advertising data generated by a website visit.

01

Your Markdown and generated files

We do not sell, rent, license, mine, or use your Markdown or generated files for advertising or AI training. Because conversion is local, we do not receive that content in the ordinary conversion flow.

02

Site operation and security

Basic request data may be used to deliver the site, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Providers involved in those tasks process data under their own terms and instructions.

03

Advertising

Advertising providers may use data to deliver, measure, limit, or personalize ads. Depending on the provider, your settings, and applicable law, some advertising disclosures may be treated as sharing or targeted advertising.

04

Legal requirements

We may preserve or disclose information we actually hold when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect users, investigate abuse, or defend the service and its rights.

Your Privacy Choices

You can reduce or control several types of data use without creating an account. Rights available under privacy law vary by location.

01

Avoid remote image requests

Remove http or https image links from your Markdown before previewing or exporting if you do not want your browser to contact those image hosts.

02

Clear browser data

Use your browser settings to clear cookies, local storage, and other site data. You can also use browser tracking protection or content-blocking controls.

03

Manage advertising choices

Use any consent controls shown to you, your browser's privacy settings, or the advertising provider's opt-out tools. Blocking third-party scripts may affect ads but should not be required for local document conversion.

04

Ask a question or make a privacy request

Email support@markdowntoword.art. Tell us what you are asking about and your location so we can evaluate any access, deletion, correction, objection, or other request that applies to data we actually hold.

Common Privacy Questions

Straight answers to the questions people ask before using a private document converter.

01

Does this converter upload my files?

No. The Markdown you paste or select stays in your browser during conversion. Remote images, advertising scripts, and ordinary page requests are separate network activity described above.

02

Are my documents stored after conversion?

No server-side document workspace or conversion history is created. Your browser and device control the tab session and any output files you download.

03

Are my files used to train AI?

No. We do not receive your Markdown or generated files through the conversion flow, and we do not use them to train AI models.

04

Is the site appropriate for confidential documents?

Local processing avoids sending document content to a conversion server, but only you or your organization can decide whether the site fits your legal, security, contractual, or regulatory requirements. Review remote image links and third-party advertising activity before using highly sensitive material.

05

Is this service intended for children?

No. The service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has emailed personal information to us, contact support@markdowntoword.art.

06

Can this policy change?

Yes. We may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
